Adolf Loos (1870–1933) was an Austro-Czech architect and architectural theorist, considered a pioneer of modern architecture. His essay Ornament and Crime argued against decorative excess in favour of functional design. In Pilsen he designed several interiors that rank among his most significant surviving works.
