Alexander Dubček

About

Alexander Dubček (1921–1992) was a Slovak politician and the face of reform communism in Czechoslovakia. As First Secretary of the Communist Party, he led the Prague Spring of 1968 under the slogan "socialism with a human face". After the Soviet-led invasion he was removed from power, and returned to politics after 1989 as Chairman of the Federal Assembly.
