APHKHAZETI: Georgian State Ballet, Choir and Orchestra

APHKHAZETI is a Georgian state ballet company founded in 1931, originally based in Abkhazia. Following the war in Abkhazia and Russian occupation, the ensemble relocated to Tbilisi in 1992. Since 2021, artistic director Bachan Chanturia has led the company, creating the programme Choreonicon, which blends traditional Georgian dances from various regions with live music and contemporary choreography.
