About

Baruch Spinoza (1632–1677) was a Dutch philosopher of Jewish origin and one of the most important thinkers of the 17th century. He is known for his pantheistic conception of God and nature as a single infinite substance. His views led to his excommunication from the Amsterdam Jewish community. He earned his living as a lens grinder.
