Beastie Boys are an American hip-hop group from New York City, active from the early 1980s. They pioneered the fusion of hip-hop, punk, and rock, with landmark albums such as Licensed to Ill (1986) and Paul's Boutique (1989). Widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in hip-hop history, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
