Django Reinhardt was a Belgian jazz guitarist of Romani origin and one of the most influential guitarists of the 20th century. He is widely regarded as the pioneer of gypsy swing (jazz manouche), and was celebrated for his virtuosic playing technique despite a serious injury to his left hand. Together with violinist Stéphane Grappelli, he led the Quintette du Hot Club de France. His best-known compositions include Minor Swing and Nuages.
