Hermann Hesse (1877–1962) was a German-Swiss novelist, poet, and Nobel Prize laureate in Literature (1946). He is best known for works such as Siddhartha, Steppenwolf, and The Glass Bead Game. In this event, his personal account of his first airship journey in 1911 is read aloud.
