Hōshōkai is a Tokyo-based school of traditional Japanese Nō theatre, one of the five main schools of this ancient art form. It carries forward over eight centuries of living tradition, featuring elaborate costumes, carved wooden masks, traditional music, and ritual dance. Nō theatre is inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
