Ivan Martin Jirous, nicknamed "Magor", was a Czech poet, art critic, and the chief ideologist of the Czech underground movement. He served as artistic director of The Plastic People of the Universe and was repeatedly imprisoned by the communist regime. He is regarded as a central figure of cultural resistance in Czechoslovakia.
