Josef Liesler

Josef Liesler (1912–2005) was a Czech painter and graphic artist, a graduate of the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. He focused mainly on figurative painting, portraiture and illustration, and is the author of the large-scale canvas "Havíři" (Miners) depicting the world of coal mining. His works are held in Czech and international collections.

Farewell, Friends!

This exhibition chronicles 250 years of Ostrava-Karviná mining history through photographs, artefacts, tools, and artworks. The centrepiece is a replica of the last coal cart from the ČSM Mine, marking the end of an era.
