Josef Václav Myslbek (1848–1922) was the most prominent Czech sculptor of the 19th century, working in a realist style closely tied to the Czech National Revival. He is best known for the equestrian statue of Saint Wenceslas in Prague's Wenceslas Square, which became a defining symbol of Czech national identity.
