About

Paul Dukas was a French composer and music critic active around the turn of the 20th century. He is best known for his symphonic poem The Sorcerer's Apprentice (1897), inspired by a Goethe ballad and later immortalised in Walt Disney's Fantasia. Dukas was notoriously self-critical and destroyed most of his compositions.
