Ruins is a Japanese avant-garde group founded in Tokyo in 1985 by drummer Tatsuya Yoshida. The band blends progressive rock, noise rock, and free jazz with a highly technical and chaotic approach. Ruins has collaborated with artists such as Fred Frith and John Zorn, and is a key act in the Japanese underground music scene.
