Stéphane Grappelli was a French jazz violinist and one of the pioneers of swing jazz. He rose to fame through his collaboration with guitarist Django Reinhardt in the Quintette du Hot Club de France in the 1930s. His virtuosic, melodic style has influenced generations of jazz violinists worldwide.
