The Glass Menagerie

About

The Glass Menagerie is a play by American playwright Tennessee Williams, first performed in 1944. It follows the Wingfield family — the overbearing mother Amanda and her two adult children Tom and Laura — and draws heavily on Williams's own life, with Tom serving as his alter ego and Laura inspired by his sister Rose. The play is regarded as a landmark of 20th-century American theatre.
