Vladimír Merta is a Czech singer-songwriter and guitarist rooted in the folk and tramp music tradition. He became a notable figure of the Czech folk scene from the 1970s, when his songs circulated in samizdat form. He is known for his distinctive poetic approach to both lyrics and melody.
