Forgotten film director Gustav returns to Oslo after years away to offer his estranged daughter Nora the lead role in a film he has written for her. When Nora firmly rejects his unexpected offer, Gustav casts ambitious Hollywood actress Rachel Kemp instead, further straining the fragile balance of their family relationships.
