Prague Cello Quartet will perform on Monday, 10 August 2026 at 19:00 on the courtyard of Špilberk Castle in Brno. This is the first of three Czech dates on the group's tour. Špilberk Castle, a medieval fortress dating from the 13th century, now serves as part of the Brno City Museum and hosts concerts and summer cultural events in its courtyard. Classical music in this historic setting creates a distinctive experience. Following the Brno performance, the quartet will continue to Ostrava-Poruba and Zábřeh.

About the venue: Špilberk

Špilberk Castle and fortress is the landmark of Brno, rising on the hilltop of the same name. Founded in the first half of the 13th century by Přemysl Otakar II, it served in the 14th century as the seat of the Moravian margraves. In the 17th–18th centuries it was rebuilt into a massive Baroque fortress and from 1783 functioned as a feared prison known as the "Jail of Nations". Today it houses the Brno City Museum, is a national cultural monument, and hosts concerts, theatre performances and the annual International Music Festival Špilberk.
