Heroes

Three World War I veterans — Gustav, René, and Fernand — share a room in a nursing home. On the terrace of their refuge, they meet regularly, reminisce about the past, and tease each other. Gustav is a cynic with a big heart who suffers from fear of the outside world. René faints constantly due to a shrapnel fragment lodged in his head. Fernand is a pragmatic optimist who, despite his limp, tries to stand firmly on his feet.

One day, the three decide to rebel against the monotonous life of "retirement" and together plan an expedition to a hill on the horizon, whose summit is swept by wind through the branches of poplars. Will the heroes succeed in this final adventure?
