Husak's Children

Tue, 3 Nov 2026 · 19:00

KC Semilasso, Brno

Four former classmates from 8.D – a generation born by accident in the same year as half the nation, each stuck in their childhood version of themselves.

Martin is a boy from kindergarten who proudly nurtures his disdain for all things tasteless. Marie is a devout bookworm with tinnitus that only goes away during sex. Hedvika was the most beautiful girl in class – she's nearly fifty and the only one who hasn't noticed. Marcel is the son of a Communist functionary who lives non-stop and makes a living imitating Michal David.

They meet in an ambulance – each for a completely different reason – and on the way to the emergency room their lives literally collide. The universe has a sense of humor, so they end up in a hellishly absurd 8.D classroom run by Gustav Husak himself: the man who somewhat ruined their generation… and now has to put it back together.

A story full of sausages, moldy jeans, a classroom under socialist care, swinger parties – and finally Michal David arrives with a scooter stuck in his throat. A comedy about how real growing up sometimes doesn't happen until after fifty.
