Karel Plíhal performs in Plzeň on Wednesday, 7 October 2026 at Měšťanská beseda. This is one of two Czech dates on his tour, with the second stop scheduled for November in Prague's Divadlo GONG. Měšťanská beseda is a Neo-Renaissance building with Art Nouveau decoration, built in 1901 and now one of Plzeň's most significant cultural venues following its major reconstruction. Plíhal and guitarist Petr Fiala present intelligently humorous songs and versed interludes, alternating entertaining verses with emotionally resonant texts. The performance is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

About the venue: Měšťanská beseda

Měšťanská beseda is a Neo-Renaissance building with Art Nouveau décor, erected by the Pilsen citizens' association in 1901 and ceremonially opened on 29 December of that year. Following an extensive renovation completed in 2005, it serves as one of the most important cultural centres in Pilsen. The venue houses several halls and salons, the Beseda Cinema, the Jonáš Theatre and an Art Nouveau café, with a total capacity of over 1,000 persons. Concerts, theatre performances, balls, film screenings, festivals, lectures and children's events take place here almost daily. The building is a listed cultural monument and received the Building of the Year 2005 award.
