Volmanova vila – Guided Tour with Markéta Čejková
Volmanova vila, Čelákovice
A guided tour of one of the most significant functionalist buildings of the First Republic, designed by architects Karel Janů and Jiří Štursa.
The largest villa in Bohemia was built in 1938–1939 for Josef Volman, owner of a Čelákovice factory. Art historian Markéta Čejková will focus on the essence of functionalism and its typical features, which you will see directly in the villa — including comparisons with contemporary private villas and apartments from the 1920s and 1930s. The tour also covers the dramatic history of the house, which has been restored from a completely dilapidated state to its current condition.
You may enter the park 15 minutes before the tour begins. Group reservations must be booked at info@vilavolman.cz.
