Šarbilach Orchestra
Přístav 18600, Prague
Following last year's concert, the Šarbilach Orchestra returns to Přístav 18600.
Šarbilach means "a fragment of happiness" in Hebrew. The ensemble comprises over 20 musicians, mostly graduates of art schools and conservatories. Its style draws from a blend of classical, popular, and ethnic music, and thanks to its unusual instrumentation and original repertoire – compositions are written and arranged specifically for the orchestra – it occupies a unique genre position.
Šarbilach performs roughly a dozen public concerts each year. In the past, it has appeared at festivals such as Vyšehraní, Mezi ploty, Camerata Nova Náchod, the Jewish festival ŠAMAJIM in Třebíč, Jewish Days of Culture in Holešov, Hošek's unconventional Žižkov autumn, St. John's celebrations, Atrium, and Roxy NoD.
