Czechoslovak Architecture 58–89

A documentary by Jana Zajíčka mapping the Czechoslovak pre-revolutionary architectural scene — from Expo 1958 to the Velvet Revolution. The filmmakers present exceptional buildings from this period, interview their architects, and reveal the stories and efforts behind their creation.

The film builds on a book project and a Czech Television series based on an idea by Vladimir 518, but focuses more extensively on Slovak architecture. Visual and editorial originality are integral to this project.

Unfortunately, many of the buildings and their architects did not live to see the film's premiere — the documentary thus stands as a lasting tribute to their work and legacy.
