A traveling Czech-English photographic exhibition of portrait photographs titled "Fates of Roma During World War II" presents powerful life stories of Roma men, women, and entire families who became victims of racial persecution during World War II. The exhibition features portraits of seven Roma survivors living in the Czech Republic. The photographs were taken in 2019 by Jana Stachová. Each portrait is accompanied by a summary of the survivor's fate during World War II and their current life situation. Through photographs and accompanying texts, the exhibition opens the topic of the Roma Holocaust and its impact on Czech society.
The exhibition was held at the Municipal Library Polička (Palackého náměstí 64) with an opening on March 26, 2026 at 17:00 and was accessible until April 30, 2026. The exhibition is organized by the non-profit organization Živá paměť with support from the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Czech Ministry of Culture, and the Foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility, Future". The exhibition's tour began in 2021 in Pardubice and has since visited numerous Czech cities including Karlovy Vary, Olomouc, Liberec, Plzeň, České Budějovice, Kladno, and Hradec Králové. Admission is free.
