The Czech Philharmonic Quartet was founded in 2000 by members of the Czech Philharmonic. The ensemble performs with Helena Jiříkovská (first violin), Viktor Mazáček (second violin), Jiří Poslední (viola), and Tomáš Strašil (cello). The quartet regularly performs in chamber cycles of the Czech Philharmonic and has a rich history of festival performances both at home and abroad – in Great Britain, Luxembourg, Germany, Israel, China, Slovakia, and Japan.
In Podlažice near Chrudim, the quartet will present a programme titled "Concert for Ordinary Extraordinary People" – a selection of the finest works from the quartet's repertoire. The concert takes place as part of the jubilee 70th edition of the Dvořák Festival (May 1 – September 8, 2026), which this year will visit seventy towns and villages and offer eighty-eight concerts in historic halls, churches, and open-air venues. The festival's motto is "Your Summer Energy".
