Novoměstská Philharmonic: From Fairy Tale to Fairy Tale

The Novoměstská Philharmonic (NoFi) will perform a concert in the Broumov Monastery complex (Multifunctional Hall Dřevník, Klášterní 1) featuring music from animated and live-action films that inspired generations – including scores from The Proud Princess, How to Train Your Dragon, The Little Mermaid, and beloved children's programme melodies. The orchestra will be joined by the mixed vocal ensemble Jitro from Hradec Králové.
The concert takes place on Saturday, 23 May 2026 at 4 p.m. The same day offers additional programming at the monastery: from 2 p.m. an interactive Children's Tour "Living Baroque" and from 6 to 10 p.m. the Broumov Museum Night with free entry to selected monastery buildings (Museum of Broumov Region, medieval scriptorium, monastery gardens). Standard monastery tours are available throughout the day.
NoFi continues the tradition of a symphony orchestra founded in Nové Město nad Metují in 1960. It is one of the few amateur musical ensembles of its size in the Hradec Králové Region. In recent years, the orchestra has presented thematic concerts featuring music by Smetana, Holst, jazz and musical theatre melodies, and music from Star Wars.
