Description was written before the event

The Hypnotist at the Bus Stop is an original monodrama blending humour, poetry, and Miltonian-style hypnotic techniques and NLP. The Prague premiere will take place at the Divadlo Apropo theatre on Malá Strana in two performances: 26 February and 4 March 2026.

The story follows a man in his fifties waiting for a bus. What seems like an ordinary situation unfolds into a personal journey through five scenes, in which the audience encounters their own "stops" — rush, silence, family, reconciliation, and homecoming. The text is written in a rhythmic, hypnotic language; the audience follows the plot while being naturally guided towards relaxation.

The author and lead performer is Šimon Pečenka — an actor, presenter, singer, writer, and hypnotherapist with over 30 years of experience, author of the books Phones from Quarantine, A Bucket Full of Optimism, and Mini-Hypnoses. The recorded voice of Naďa Konvalinkova will be heard during the performance. The production is directed by television director Vojta Nouzák.

Following the Prague premiere, the creators plan to tour the regions; the performance is designed for intimate venues — tea houses, cultural centres, reading rooms, community centres, and smaller theatres.
