On the Danish island of Bornholm, trolls live deep underground where their fun-filled life is governed by strict rules. The most important rule is clear: never go to the surface, because humans are dangerous. Curious and mischievous Spuntik is meant to become the next guardian of the cave and protect the trolls from humans. But instead, he prefers to play pranks and fly on the backs of bats. When one day a strange rumbling is heard from the surface, he secretly ventures up to find out what is happening. Unexpectedly, his little sister follows him – and their innocent expedition soon turns into an unexpected adventure in the human world, full of danger, magic, and experiences that will open Spuntik to a completely new world.
