Concert of New Impressions with V4 String Quartet

This chamber concert features two Prague premieres performed by the string quartet: a short, colorful and emotionally rich work by rising Polish composer Katarzyna Krzewińska, and a complete cycle of string quartet miniatures by acclaimed Hungarian master György Kurtág, who celebrates his 100th birthday this year. The concert concludes with one of the most expressive works in the string quartet repertoire – Leoš Janáček's String Quartet No. 1 "Kreutzer Sonata". The V4 String Quartet, an international ensemble bringing together musicians from the Visegrád Four countries (V4), will perform. The quartet's activities are supported by the Visegrád Fund. The concert takes place at the Czech Museum of Music in Prague, housed in a former Baroque church of St. Mary Magdalene on Karmelitská Street in the Malá Strana district.
