Státní hrad Karlštejn, Karlštejn

Description was written before the event

On Saturday, May 23, 2026, Karlštejn Castle hosts Emperor's Day – a knight's adventure for children. Where better to be knighted than at the imperial Karlštejn Castle by Emperor Charles IV himself? The Emperor and Empress will knight all young visitors who complete the knight's challenges and demonstrate their skill, courage, and valor. Each future young knight will receive a commemorative certificate and experience a personal meeting with the Emperor.

Program schedule: from 9:30 to 16:00, ticket sales and collection of the Knight's Certificate take place at the castle ticket office; from 9:30 to 17:00, individual knight stations are open throughout the castle grounds, including previously inaccessible areas. The ceremonial knighting takes place three times daily – at 12:00, 14:00, and 17:00.

Free time between knight competitions and knighting can be spent on a castle tour (admission fee), watching a short film about Karlštejn Castle in the Burgrave's Office basement (free), or visiting the basement of the Emperor's Palace, where children will find a photo corner and other entertainment. The event is primarily intended for families with children.
