Ondřej Zahradníček – Hollywood

A pop-art exhibition by painter, illustrator, and educator Ondřej Zahradníček titled "Hollywood" runs at the Beroun Municipal Gallery from April 26 to May 29, 2026. Zahradníček has been creating visual art for over forty years and studied figurative painting privately under Kladno-based painter Karel Souček. He is the author of dozens of illustrated books, has restored frescoes, and paints portraits and works for French churches. He has held over a hundred exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad. In 2021, he received an art award for the Saint Hubert educational trail, which he created in collaboration with hunters from Unhošť. In the "Hollywood" exhibition, he bridges the world of old masters with the world of film and comics – viewers are greeted by, for example, a smiling shark from the film "Jaws" or Captain America taking a selfie with goat herders. The gallery is housed in Duslov Villa, a heritage-protected pseudo-Renaissance building from 1890 that underwent renovation in 2002–2003. It features three exhibition halls and a winter garden leading to Pakostov Park. Admission to the exhibition is free. Note: The Municipal Gallery will be closed on May 1 and 8.
