Chris Potter Trio (USA)

took place · 21 May 2026

Jazz Dock, Prague

Description was written before the event

Saxophonist Chris Potter, Grammy-nominated and one of the most prominent figures on the contemporary jazz scene, performs as a soloist, composer, and bandleader. His latest project is a trio with bassist Matt Brewer and drummer Kendrick Scott, with whom he also shares the stage as part of the SFJAZZ Collective. The concert takes place as part of the Jazz of Four Continents 2026 festival at the Prague club Jazz Dock.

Potter has released more than fifteen albums as a leader during his career and has participated as a sideman on more than 150 recordings with legends such as Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, and John Scofield. His saxophone playing is characterized by precision and control, but also by a willingness to let ideas develop freely—melodies stretch and bend, rhythms shift subtly, and silence becomes part of the musical dialogue.

Matt Brewer studied at the Juilliard Jazz Program in New York and quickly established himself as a sought-after sideman, collaborating with Greg Osby, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Lee Konitz, and Vijay Iyer, among others. Kendrick Scott, drummer and composer, has been shaping the world of modern drumming for years and is known for his work with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and his own project Oracle. Club discounts do not apply to this concert; seat reservations are available only upon ticket purchase.
