Play in Slatiňany Castle Garden – Greetings from Travels

The outdoor game "Greetings from Travels" brings to life the stories of the Auersberg family from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and is part of the National Heritage Institute project "In the Footsteps of Noble Families – Nobility on Travels 2026". Eighteen historical postcards from 18 European countries are placed throughout the castle garden. These postcards were received by Princess Charlotte of Auersberg between 1899 and 1902 from her relatives and friends. Players follow their trail, explore beautiful corners of the garden, learn about the Auersberg family members, test their geographical knowledge, complete tasks, and solve a mystery. The correct solution awaits at the final station. Two game variants are available – some tasks are shared, others differ. The game is not entirely simple, but that makes completing it all the more rewarding. The game is suitable primarily for children aged 10 and up, but will also entertain adults. Players must download and print the game card from the castle website in advance and bring a pencil. The game does not need to start from station 1 – postcards can be discovered gradually, and groups can be divided into smaller teams. The game is accessible during castle garden visiting hours without reservation. Garden admission is a flat rate of 60 CZK, seasonal pass 160 CZK, organized groups of kindergarten children 40 CZK. Access to the garden is only through the castle building. Dogs and bicycles are not permitted. In the garden, children may encounter peacocks and dwarf Dutch goats and visit the children's farm – miniature replicas of rural buildings. The game runs from April 2 to October 31, 2026.
