Exhibition of Castle and Fortress Models at Sychrov

An exhibition of paper models of castles and fortresses runs from 1 April to 31 October 2026 in the basement of the visitor centre of Sychrov State Castle. Admission to the exhibition is free for all castle visitors. Among the displayed paper models of the most significant Czech monuments are the castles of Kačina, Červená Lhota and Hořovice, the fortresses of Grabštejn, Český Šternberk and Karlštejn, as well as the Church of St. Barbara in Kutná Hora. The meticulously crafted miniatures present these buildings from an unusual perspective and offer an opportunity to better understand their layout and architectural design. Entry to the castle grounds (courtyard, park and basement) is charged at a flat rate of 60 CZK for adults; the ticket also includes access to the basements beneath the south and east wings of the castle. A season pass for the grounds is available for 200 CZK (2026). Note: the entire castle grounds are closed from 2 to 17 May 2026 due to filming. The castle grounds exteriors are fully accessible to wheelchair users; a barrier-free toilet with Eurokey access is available.
