OPEN ZUŠ - Dance Department Performance

The Dance Department (TO) of the Jana Štursa Basic Art School in Nové Město na Moravě presents its performance as part of the nationwide ZUŠ Open festival, in which the school participates during the week of May 18–22, 2026. Students of the dance department develop their dance and movement skills through creative dance games, fundamentals of contemporary and classical dance techniques, movement coordination, musicality, and dance improvisation. An important part of the curriculum is choreography creation and performance preparation, during which students collaborate with other departments of the school – the literary-dramatic, visual arts, and music departments. The public performance takes place at the Cultural Centre on Tyršova Street (Kulturák NMnM). The ZUŠ Open festival is a nationwide project that annually showcases the breadth and quality of education at basic art schools throughout the Czech Republic.
