Memory of the Nation Run in Olomouc

The Memory of the Nation Run in Olomouc is a charity running event organized by the non-profit organization Post Bellum, which stands behind the Memory of the Nation project. Proceeds from entry fees go towards documenting the memories of witnesses, educational programmes for children and adults, and supporting former political prisoners and dissidents. The start and finish of the race are located at the collection greenhouses of the Flora Olomouc exhibition, with the route running along a 2.5 km loop through Smetana and Čech parks on asphalt. Participants can choose from measured runs with mass start at 5 or 10 km, a 4 × 2.5 km relay, an unmeasured family run at 1 km (suitable for parents with strollers), and a children's race at 200 metres. Registration begins at 8:30, with the main races starting at 9:30. The event includes a supporting programme for the whole family; Palacký University, as a traditional partner, is preparing a Relax & Science zone with workshops and interactive activities. Each runner can dedicate their run to a specific person whose story they wish to commemorate. Registration is available online and on-site on race day.
