Museum Night under Ještěd

Museum Night under Ještěd 2026 takes place on Friday, May 22 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and connects cultural institutions in Jablonec nad Nisou, Liberec, and Vratislavice nad Nisou. This year's edition carries the motto "Museums Connect a Divided World" and in Jablonec focuses on celebrating the 160th anniversary of the city's elevation to town status. In Jablonec nad Nisou, participating venues include the State Museum of Glass and Costume Jewellery (creative workshops for families – bracelet-making, glass-etching with Jablonec motifs, exhibitions of the International Triennial of Glass and Costume Jewellery Jablonec 2026), the Scheybal House (exhibition "Lost Jablonec nad Nisou / Gablonz an der Neiße" marking the 160th anniversary, children's creative workshop), the New Town Hall (tower climbs every 30 minutes with a guide until 10:30 p.m., interior tours), St. Anne's Church (exhibition of graduation works by SUPŠ students), the House of Jana and Josef V. Scheybal (pyrography workshop – Art Nouveau ornaments, limited capacity), Nisa Factory / Museum of Bead Production (demonstrations of glass figurine-making with Zdeňka Štrohalmová 6–9 p.m., jewellery design with Renata Vydrová 6–10 p.m., creative workshops), and the Municipal Gallery MY. At the Summer Stage of Eurocentrum, the opening of the Jablonec Tones 2026 festival will take place from 7 p.m. – a concert by Kateřina Marie Tichá & Bandjeez (free entry; in case of rain, moved to the Grand Hall). Historic buses and trams will provide transport between venues on the Liberec – Vratislavice – Jablonec nad Nisou route, and a historic train will run on the Liberec – Kořenov – Liberec route. Entry to all participating institutions is free. The event is part of the nationwide Festival of Museum Nights and follows International Museum Day.
