The Neuropolis exhibition by Krištof Kintera in the Galerie Gong hall at the Multifunkční aula Gong in Dolní Vítkovice. Kintera (born 1973, Prague) is one of the most prominent representatives of contemporary Czech visual art — he graduated from Prague's AVU (1999) and Amsterdam's Rijksakademie van Beeldene Kunsten (2003–2004). The interweaving of technology into human life is a long-standing theme in his work. The Neuropolis exhibition references the world of modern metropolises, where technology, human everyday life, and nature intertwine. Sculptural installations made from recycled materials — fluorescent tubes, spent batteries, and electronic waste — create a futuristic urban landscape. Kintera gives a second chance to things most of us consider waste; through ingenious combinations, monumental artworks emerge with a deeper message about technological progress, consumption, and excessive waste production. Galerie Gong was created by expanding the artistic scope of Milan Dobeš Museum and is part of the educational complex of the Dolní Vítkovice area. Opening hours: Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–18:00, closed Mondays.
