🎤 About: Tom Stoppard

Tom Stoppard is a British playwright born Tomáš Sträussler in Zlín, Czech Republic. He is best known for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and for plays that blend philosophy, wordplay, and political themes. Professional Foul was written for the BBC in 1977 in connection with Amnesty International's Prisoner of Conscience campaign, set against the backdrop of communist Czechoslovakia.

📍 About the venue: Vesna

Vesna is a Brno women's educational association with roots going back to 1870, when the oldest women's choir in Moravia was founded. It is based in a historic neo-Renaissance building at Údolní 10, built in 1889 for the first Czech girls' school in Moravia. Today it hosts educational, cultural and community activities for Czech and Ukrainian families, along with a children's centre, a textile workshop and a clothing bank for families in need.
