URBIS
BVV Brno, Brno
The URBIS – The Smart Cities Meetup trade fair and conference will take place on 2–4 June 2026 at the Brno Exhibition Centre (BVV) in Hall V. The event is organized by Brno Exhibitions (BVV) in collaboration with several ministries and approximately ten other institutions. The main cross-cutting theme of the 2026 edition is urban and municipal resilience – the ability to function sustainably, manage crises, and respond to climate, energy, economic, and social changes. The fair focuses on all key areas that Czech municipalities are addressing today: effective public administration, digital tools and open data, energy, water, waste, environment, safety, crisis preparedness, transport, buildings, and technical infrastructure. In Hall V, visitors will find two programme stages, exhibitor booths, and live technology demonstrations. The programme includes expert conferences: "Leaders in Public Administration", "Festivals as Drivers of Economy, Image, Community and Innovation in Cities and Regions", "Quality Public Construction" (3 June 2026, 9:00–12:00), and "School as a Regional Driver". A separate focus is on living labs in an international context with participation from the European ENOLL network. The fair also features URBIS Challenge HackaTEEN 2026 – a 24-hour hackathon for student and youth parliaments from primary and secondary schools across the Czech Republic on the theme of resilient smart cities. URBIS 2026 will attempt to set a record for the number of people trained in virtual reality; first-aid training is available free of charge for visitors directly in Hall V. Representatives of local governments and municipalities have traditional free entry to the fair upon prior registration.
