Waste Day

Waste Day will take place on Thursday, 21 May 2026 from 9:00 to 14:00 on the Great Square in Kroměříž. The event is jointly organized by the City of Kroměříž, EKO-KOM company, and Healthy City Kroměříž. It is an entertaining and educational event focused on proper sorting of municipal waste. Visitors will see how Kroměříž manages to sort municipal waste – the programme includes a live demonstration of the contents of a waste bin for mixed municipal waste right on the square, so that people can verify in practice what actually belongs in black bins and what does not. Various educational games and activities are prepared for both children and adults, during which visitors will learn how to sort waste correctly and why it is important. The event is part of a campaign through which the city raises citizens' awareness of the importance of waste sorting and the costs associated with waste management. Admission is free.
