Witches Exhibition at Moravská Třebová Castle
Zámek Moravská Třebová, Moravská Třebová
From April 24 to May 24, 2026, Moravská Třebová Castle hosts a private collection of over 150 witch figurines of various sizes, loaned by Jarka Petrová from Rychnov na Moravě. The exhibition is accessible within the castle's exhibition spaces and is designed for families of all ages.
Moravská Třebová Castle is a national cultural monument and one of the most significant Renaissance buildings in Central Europe. Its arcaded courtyard from the early 17th century is unique throughout Central Europe and appears in every Czech art history textbook. In addition to the witches exhibition, visitors can explore permanent exhibitions: a medieval torture chamber in the castle basement featuring instruments such as the Spanish boot, pillory, and thumbscrew, and an alchemist's laboratory of Master Bonacina – court alchemist and physician of Ladislav Velen ze Žerotína. In 2022, rooms in the tower dedicated to Ladislav Velen ze Žerotína were also opened to the public.
Tickets can be purchased directly at the castle cashier (card and cash accepted). May opening hours: Tuesday–Sunday 9:30–11:30 and 12:30–17:00 (closed except 9:30–11:30 on Thursday, May 14 and Saturday, May 30 due to cultural events). Contact: zamek@ksmt.cz.
