Exhibition Étoiles solitaires & das jüngste Blut
Galerie Ladislava Sutnara, Plzeň
The exhibition Étoiles solitaires & das jüngste Blut presents current ceramic work by graduates and current students of the Ceramic Design studio at the Faculty of Design and Art of Ladislav Sutnar at the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň. The title combines the French "solitary stars" (Étoiles solitaires) and German "youngest blood" (das jüngste Blut), referencing both the individuality of each artist and the emerging generation of creators. The language combination also underscores the tension between poetics and urgency reflected in the works themselves. The project builds on last year's intimate exhibition at Viadukt Karlín and is curated by Gabriel Vach, a pedagogue who has led the Ceramic Design studio since 2012. The exhibition features works by 28 artists – Tomáš Černý, Adéla Drobníková, Šárka Drda Ištvánová, Ester Fillová, Michael Franče, Markéta Kalivodová, Eliška Kalousová, Juliana Kimličková, Tannia Klimenko, Magdalena Komancová, Kateřina Kopecká, Ester Kudláčková, Alžběta Ledvinová, Alena Lišková, Nonna Lorenz, Manka Lustigová, Kira Matvejko, Kryštof Míchal, Anežka Müllerová, Viktorie Nácalová, Nalejto, Natálie Reichsteinová, Lucie Tvrdíková, Anna Šupolíková, Eva Ungvári, Lenka Záhorková, Veronika Zálešáková and Jiří Žežula. Many of the invited artists created entirely new works for this exhibition. A distinctive feature of the installation is a neutral background with professional lighting, allowing visitors to document the objects themselves "professionally" and take away digital souvenirs. The opening reception took place on April 8, 2026 at 6:00 PM. The exhibition runs until May 23, 2026. After closing, part of the exhibition will move to the Křehký Mikulov festival (May 29–31, 2026). Admission is free.
