Dies irae – Days of Wrath

Dies irae – Days of Wrath is a visiting Slovak monodrama in which a young man comes to therapy with questions about alienation, silence, and human coexistence in society. Gradually he reveals more and more, until the audience eventually knows more than they might wish. The desire for understanding driven to absurdity, the need to share, confess, and find acceptance — these are the central themes of the play. Frustration and pressure from feelings of alienation and uprooting caused by the absence of human tolerance and empathy lead the protagonist to an unexpected, violent act. The role is performed by Jan Janča, whose focused acting has been praised by critics as convincing and disturbing. The performance lasts approximately 60 minutes.
