The Secret of Moonlight - Work in progress
Divadlo Ponec, Prague
"The Secret of Moonlight" is an inclusive dance performance for the youngest audiences, created under the direction of choreographer Yana Reutova and her non-profit organization Dancehood in co-production with the TANEC PRAHA festival. This work-in-progress showing precedes the planned premiere in June 2026.
The performance is based on the internationally recognized Safe Place method, where the environment adapts to the child, not the other way around. It is designed for three audience groups: children with autism and other neurodivergences, toddlers in their parents' arms who become a communication bridge, and curious preschoolers who can participate more actively in the play. The set by Marjetka Kürner Kalous transforms into a magical playroom full of decorations and sensory stimuli — everything is within reach, yet nothing is mandatory.
The performance explores and plays with different senses; children discover textures, respond to sounds, and touch interactive objects. Yana Reutova worked as a choreographer and educator in the Odesa region of Ukraine, from where she fled the war to Prague in March 2022. Here she continues her artistic and teaching work and has created award-winning children's performances "On the Way" and "Time of Childhood," which have been successful throughout the Czech Republic and abroad.
