Sál radnice, Jablunkov
A feature-length documentary directed by Dan Svátek (cinematography by Jakub Šimůnek) offers an intimate and candid portrait of musician David Stypka, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2021 at the age of 41. The screening in Jablunkov is organized as a memorial evening. The film traces Stypka's twenty-year musical career and personal life—how he lived, created, and coped with a difficult fate. Filming took place primarily in northern Moravia, in his native village of Dobrá and in Frýdek-Místek, but also in Prague, Brno, and at a festival in Romanian Banat. The documentary is built on testimonies from Stypka's closest friends, colleagues, and industry peers—alongside members of the band Bandjeez, his mother and partner (mother of his three children), the film features Ewa Farna, Kateřina Marie Tichá, Mirai Navrátil, music producer Boris Carloff, manager Martin Ledvina, and publisher Martin Červinka. In Czech, 87 minutes. Not suitable for children under 12.
