Adventure Playground in Písek 2026

Adventure Playground is a concept of free-form children's play space focused on creative, uninhibited play and building with real materials – pallets, cardboard, fabrics, and actual tools. Unlike conventional playgrounds with standardized climbing structures, this space encourages children's own imagination. A trained instructor is present throughout, and the playground has clear safety rules.

The Adventure Playground in Písek is now in its second year, organized by Sladovna Písek in collaboration with Smart Písek and supported by the City of Písek. It was first introduced in Písek in 2025 as the first such playground outside Prague in the Czech Republic. This year it has moved directly to the Portyč housing estate, to a green area on Topělecká Street adjacent to the central car park, where it will be open from April 18 to May 23, 2026. It is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday from 14:00 to 18:00. For school groups, the playground is accessible on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 to 13:00.

The playground is complemented by the City Lab on the Move – a mobile caravan located right next to the playground, where children and adults can find sensory installations and the opportunity to record their observations and wishes for the place. The project also includes a photography exhibition by Caroliny Sidon from the Child-Friendly City association (opening on May 12 at 16:00), showcasing adventure playgrounds from abroad and the Czech Republic. The project is part of the broader City Lab programme, the international Re-Value project, and the Pískoviště festival (May 22–24, 2026). Entry is free.
