Forms of Mácha's May – Book and Landscape

The exhibition "Forms of Mácha's May – Book / Landscape" is on display in the municipal gallery at the castle in Doksy during April and May 2026, marking 190 years since the first publication of Mácha's poem May. The opening reception took place on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM. The exhibition presents various editions of the poem May from the Mácha collection of the Museum of Local History and Gallery in Česká Lípa and from the private collection of Renata Mauserová. The exhibition is complemented by photographs of the Mácha landscape by Klára Dedková. The exhibition was prepared by Jana Černá and Jaroslava Vondrová from the Museum of Local History and Gallery in Česká Lípa in collaboration with Renata Mauserová and Klára Dedková from Kultura Doksy. The exhibition is publicly accessible on weekends outside the summer holidays and daily during the summer holidays. The exhibition is part of a broader project KAREL² – Traces of the King and Poet in Mácha's Region, which commemorates two anniversaries in 2026: 660 years since the founding of the Great Fishpond by Charles IV and 190 years since the first publication of May.
