NeFeNeFi - The Shortest Festival of the Shortest Films 2026

NeFeNeFi – The Shortest Festival of the Shortest Films – takes place on 12 June 2026 at Velvarská Záložna in the centre of Velvary, under the patronage of the city of Velvary and its mayor. It is a unique one-day film festival of its kind in Europe, founded and presided over by F. A. Brabec, a three-time Czech Lion Award winner, cinematographer and director. The festival was established in 2021 and has since grown into a regular showcase of short film work. Competition films are accepted in three categories – up to one, three and five minutes – from film school students, independent filmmakers and professionals from across the Czech Republic and abroad. The festival programme is packed: it includes a red-carpet opening, screenings of nominated films, filmmaker-audience discussions, musical performances, an awards ceremony with a star jury and a surprise night event. The 2026 programme is currently in preparation.
